Walk for CareNet Next Month
CareNet of DuPage is fast approaching one of our most important fundraisers of the year—Walk for CareNet 2017. We are excited and working hard to make this our best year yet! As a Christian non-profit organization, we rely on all of you, who support the work we do. The Walk is a fun way to raise awareness, as well as much needed funds to support the ministry. Through your fundraising efforts and your donations, we are able to provide free and confidential services such as pregnancy tests, abortion-alternative counseling, ultrasounds, material goods support, community resource referrals, mentoring, and parenting assistance to women in our community. The families we serve are in need of compassion, guidance and practical help. We are thankful that 3 out of 4 women who come to CareNet choose life for their child instead of abortion. Your support helps us to reach and serve these vulnerable women.
Help Us Reach Our Goal
This year, we are trusting God to help us reach our goal of raising $85,000 through the Walk. Funds raised will go toward each of our local centers and all of the services that they provide. As a Christian non profit, this event is critical to CareNet’s ability to meet the needs of families in DuPage County and beyond. If you are looking for a constructive way to make a difference, then learn how you can support the Walk, with or without your shoes. You can get involved by joining one of our four walk/run sites on Saturday, June 17, as a participant or a volunteer. Or you can join the virtual Walk, going on now through the end of June, by creating a Walk for CareNet fundraising page and connecting with friends and family through email or social media. Create your page in seconds, and in just a few clicks, others will have an easy way to sponsor or join your team.
Four Event Locations
The Walk for CareNet takes place at four locations around DuPage County, in Hinsdale, Wood Dale, Naperville, and Wheaton. Find details about our Walk sites here. This family-friendly event (on the day before Father’s Day) includes breakfast, balloons and face painting for the kids, a free t-shirt, recent stories and prayer requests from the counseling room, and a 5K walk or run through town to show your support for CareNet. Also, the more funds you raise, the more entries you will receive for our prize drawing. Prizes include gift certificates for local restaurants or even a pair of Cubs tickets. All are welcome! Registration starts at 8AM, with a short kick-off program at 9AM. The Walk is a great way to meet like-minded people; and if you love to help, it can also be a Christian volunteer opportunity.
