It’s Not Over Yet
The official “Walk for CareNet” event took place last weekend. A few hundred faithful supporters came to sponsor the work of CareNet, and to promote love and respect for God’s gift of life. The rain held off for us. We ate bagels, we prayed, and we walked around the towns of Wheaton, Wood Dale, Naperville, and Hinsdale. But it’s not over yet!
Here’s why the Walk is so important to CareNet. Because of your support, CareNet has been a source of hope for mothers for almost four decades. In fact, our ministry has grown from a single center with limited services to a comprehensive network that dramatically impacts our local communities. CareNet currently operates four help centers, in Naperville, Glen Ellyn, Wood Dale, and Elmhurst. In the fall of 2017, we will expand our reach to the far western suburbs by opening a center in the West Chicago area.
Support Your Local Center
Funds from the Walk are critical to sustaining all of our local centers and go directly to meeting the needs of vulnerable women in the surrounding communities. Whether or not you participated on the day of the Walk, we need your support now! You can help CareNet maintain vital services that save lives by making a gift toward our Walk goal. The deadline for making gifts toward the Walk is June 30th.
If we raise $85,000 by the end of June, we will meet our annual budget. Every day we are closer to meeting that goal! Check our progress right here. To help us reach our goal, make a donation here, or mail your check by June 30th. You can even help by using our social fundraising tool to share the need with others.
As a non-profit, pregnancy pro-life organization, CareNet relies on individual donations in order to provide critical support that saves hundreds of lives each year. CareNet provides free services including pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling, community resource referrals, parenting support and even material goods such as diapers and other baby supplies.
A Long History
Founded in 1981, CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage began as a hotline run by volunteers. Today we are a diverse ministry serving families in need from five counties. After 36 years, our mission remains the same, to help end the suffering from abortion in our communities. Learn how you can help!
Some Highlights from Walk 2017
Kids enjoyed balloons and face painting, while all were treated to donations of fruit, bagels, muffins and other pastries from local stores and bakeries.
Fundraisers were entered into a prize drawing, and many received gifts including Cubs tickets, “date night” packages, restaurant gift certificates and golf certificates.
Pastors from numerous local churches joined us to lend their prayers and support.
A family-friendly 5K walk gave CareNet supporters a chance to be seen around local neighborhoods. A few enthusiastic people even ran instead of walked the routes.
