• President, Glen Ellyn, IL

  • Overview:
CareNet is the first step for women facing an unplanned pregnancy. We welcome women with unconditional love, counsel, and resources that offer the light of truth—changing hearts and saving lives. Over time our team has honed its skills, so that we bring the very best tools into the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy—the latest in ultrasound technology and counselors skilled in intervention, addressing the complex issues that compel a mother to seek abortion as her answer.

CareNet was founded in 1981 by a group of DuPage County clergy and community leaders that had a dream—to save lives and rescue moms by empowering women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy to choose life. By providing women in crisis with emotional and spiritual support and practical help, this group of concerned Christians believed they could make a lasting difference in the lives of women and their families. This is how CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage was born. First came a hotline answered in a mechanic’s garage, soon after a storefront office in Villa Park.

Over the years, other centers and critical services have been added and now our counselors and medical team serve thousands of women and men each year in DuPage County and beyond. CareNet currently has a budget of just over $1.7M and a staff of about 20. Although much has changed in the decades that CareNet has been ministering to families in our community, our mission has remained steadfastly the same. CareNet is still committed to serve Christ by loving women in need unconditionally and saving the lives of their children. God is our leader and provider. In 35 years of ministry, He has used CareNet to save tens of thousands of lives!

    Responsibilities:
Reporting to a highly committed and energetic Board of Directors, the President will collaborate with the Board to clarify near and long term changes to the current vision then work to implement that vision while solidifying and strengthening the already solid business foundation and mission centered culture of CareNet. The President will provide organizational and spiritual leadership and management throughout the ministry, its donor base, and throughout the community at large. Also, frequent public speaking and implementing initiatives to increase financial support through innovative and active fundraising efforts will be key components of the role.

    Requirements/Characteristics:
Our next leader is results oriented, resourceful, energetic, and passionate about our pro-life, Gospel focused ministry. S/he has a bachelor’s degree, a deep and successful experience in leading and managing in a dynamic environment, possesses excellent business acumen, and is a superior communicator. S/he also has a successful track record of working with major financial donors, connecting vision to individuals.
