A Ministry of Excellence, part 8

Have you ever been to a CareNet center? One thing you will notice is the deliberate design of the center from the floor plan to the paint on the walls. Each center is designed to be warm and welcoming. We know that many women are very upset when they think they might be pregnant, and CareNet’s goal is to help them relax and feel safe. Thinking about the people you serve is part of being a ministry of excellence. Our premier Naperville office even has an interior waiting room designed to allow a pregnant young woman time to decompress about her situation without pressure. Would you like to see how the ministry works? Call us for a time to take a quick tour!

A Ministry of Excellence, part 7

Did I tell you about CareNet’s Nurse Manager, Carla?  She is a picture of commitment, one reason why CareNet is a ministry of excellence.  Carla drives between CareNet’s four counseling centers, performing ultrasounds so that women in danger of choosing abortion can see the life within them.  Sometimes the women respond emotionally with tears as they accept a picture of their baby to take home with them.  But whatever their reaction, Carla always responds to them with love and compassion.  Despite the many miles she travels every day (one day she performed 10 ultrasounds) she is always cheerful and happy to be in the Lord’s service.  If you would like to send her a note of encouragement, I will forward it to her.

A Ministry of Excellence, part 6

CareNet is a praying ministry, praying for clients, for each other and for the ministry. Our day opens with prayer, recognizing that His power can truly change hearts and minds. To be effective, ministry must remain connected to its source of strength. Knowing that we cannot succeed on our own, we must seek God’s wisdom and guidance. We pray everyday at 9:00 a.m.  Would you join us wherever you are, in asking God to bless CareNet?

A Ministry of Excellence, part 5

A ministry of excellence must always maintain a laser like focus on its mission. CareNet was started more than 30 years ago as a ministry dedicated to meeting the needs of women in unplanned pregnancies in danger of choosing abortion. We knew that by giving pregnant women in need – love, compassion, and practical help, decisions for life would be made. Throughout the years we have kept that mission before us. We continue to focus on outcomes and why we are here: to save lives, minister to women and share the love of Christ. Let us know how you think we are doing.

A Ministry of Excellence, part 4

It used to be that pregnancy clinics only needed to speak the English language. Not anymore, not only do we need to speak Spanish, but we also need to speak the technical language of search engines and the internet. To attract and meet the needs of women seeking unplanned pregnancy services, CareNet must compete in the world of key words, title tags, and SEO optimization. CareNet needs to be where women in need are searching for information; whether texting, Facebook or the web. It’s critical that CareNet remain on the cutting edge of technology. Knowing how to reach more women to maximize saving lives is part of being a ministry of excellence.

A Ministry of Excellence, part 3

Ultrasound services are routinely being provided by pregnancy counseling centers. CareNet offers them at all four counseling locations in DuPage County. Do you know the difference between 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound? 2D is two dimensional, 3D-three dimensional and 4D is a 3D video. CareNet offers state of the art technology as part of our ultrasound pregnancy services. Our medical staff typically sends a woman home with a picture of her baby from the ultrasound. Ultrasound lets women know they are really pregnant! I welcome your comments, questions and feedback. Let us hear from you!

A Ministry of Excellence, part 2

CareNet is committed to offering women the highest level of unplanned pregnancy services. CareNet’s Personal Resource Counselor, Julie, was brought on board to help women with specialized family and relational issues including how to tell parents about an unplanned pregnancy. Fear of telling parents is a primary motivator for ending a pregnancy. Serving women and their families well is all part of being a ministry of excellence. I welcome your comments, questions and feedback. I would like to hear from you.

A Ministry of Excellence – What Is It?

The staff at CareNet operates under five corBarbe ministry values dealing with a wide range of issues. From acknowledging that CareNet is God’s ministry and we depend on Him for everything to the realization and acceptance that everything we do is for God’s glory and thus we strive to be a ministry of excellence. What does it mean to be a “ministry of excellence?” A couple of things.

  • We measure everything. Statistics are kept on pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, how many women are target clients and pregnant. How many of those women had ultrasounds. How many life choices were made?
  • When you measure you are outcome based. Are you producing the desired results? Are we true to our mission?
  • We look to the future. What are trends in advertising, social media, and the internet that we should be looking at? What cultural shifts are impacting the women who come to us? How can we serve them better and increase choices for life?
  • We are committed. We are called to serve God, right now, in everything we do, in every CareNet counseling room, office or school classroom. When you understand that God is being served by your actions, you want to serve God with “your very best.”

You can help us by giving us feedback on how you see CareNet in our community and the work that we do. I welcome your comments, questions and feedback. I would like to hear from you.
